In the 1990s, the Ducato was followed by other successful models: the Scudo, Doblò and Van versions, modelled on the corresponding car versions. The arrival of Scudo, in production since 1995, met a need to offer a new commercial vehicle to professionals in search of a compact means of transport, with a good loading capacity, but that drives like a car.
Doblò, produced in Turkey, was launched on the Italian market in 2000, and on other international markets in 2001: it immediately achieved remarkable success.
2000 also saw the evolution of the pick-up concept - first created in 1981 with the Fiorino - with the advent of the Strada, the pick-up truck of the Palio family.
