E-Ducato Pilot Project

E-Ducato, 100% Electric professional vehicle, developed from a customer-driven “Pilot Project”.
Throughout its 120-year history, Fiat Professional has always been a brand that “let the facts speak for themselves”, producing vehicles that are first and foremost work tools for growing the business. E-Ducato continues this tradition of excellence and proactivity as the first Fiat Professional vehicle to be 100% electric and 100% designed with our customers.

Before the new E-Ducato was finalised, Fiat Professional gathered monitoring data for a whole year from 4,000 thermal Ducatos, whose control units, connected in real-time, allowed the different journey profiles to be identified whilst on the road.

This study phase was followed by the launch of a “Pilot Project” so complete and complex that it was unprecedented in the history of Fiat Professional. During the engineering development phase, a mini fleet of pre-production vehicles were assigned to strategic customers before they were available on the market, allowing Fiat Professional to collect the electric data (adding to the thermal information).

The new E-Ducato fleet bears a distinctive livery, combined with international partners who took part in the project such as Arcese, GLS, Lyreco, Mercitalia, EDF, Fraikin, CSB, Nippon Express and BT Fleet, to name a few. All leading companies, interested in combining the commercial side of their business with electric mobility.
