FIAT Professional’s all-new Fullback pick-up truck will make its UK debut on the FIAT Professional stand G80 – Hall 5 at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show held at Birmingham’s NEC (26-28 April, 2016).
Debuted at the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show, the new FIAT Professional Fullback is set to play a leading role in its segment thanks to its winning characteristics of robust construction and reliability.
The new medium-duty pick-up will join the award-winning FIAT Professional range in June 2016, along with the new Talento and Fiorino, and will be available with a practical double cab body style configuration in the UK making it an ideal vehicle for both commercial and leisure time activities.
Measuring 1,780mm in height, 1,815 mm in width and 5,285mm in length, with a wheelbase of 3,000mm, the new FIAT Professional Fullback will offer a competitive payload up to 1,045Kg and will be powered by a 2.4-litre, aluminium, turbo-diesel engine with a power output of either 150hp or 180hp. Two transmissions will be available, a new six-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed automatic transmission with sports mode, and both will be combined with full four-wheel drive systems.
The new FIAT Professional Fullback will be available in the UK in two trim levels with pricing and specifications to be announced closer to the vehicle’s launch in June 2016. The Fullback is FIAT Professional’s first contender in the medium-duty pick-up truck segment. In the UK, 2015 sales in the pick-up segment were up 18% with full year registrations totalling almost 40,000 units.
"We are delighted to present the new FIAT Professional Fullback pick-up at this year's Commercial Vehicle Show," says Ricky McFarland, Country Manager FIAT Professional UK.
“The new Fullback provides us with an exciting opportunity in the growing pick-up truck segment and together with the arrival of the new Talento and new Fiorino models in June, joining the rest of the award-winning FIAT Professional range, we are confident of attracting new fleets and retail customers by providing them with one of the strongest product line-ups in the market today.”
Other exhibits on the FIAT Professional stand will be liveried in the design of the major companies with which FIAT Professional is currently conducting business and include: a Ducato from BT Fleet; a Doblò Maxi from SSE; a Doblò Cargo from Network Rail and a Fiorino in its Carillion livery.

The ever-popular van, which has become as iconic as a camper as it has as a commercial vehicle, marked the milestone this week.
Since the first Ducato rolled off the production line at Val di Sangro's SEVEL (Società Europea Veicoli Leggeri) factory in October 1981, it has consistently been a market leader in versatility, engine power and low running costs.
Today, the sixth-generation Ducato is produced in three countries (Mexico, Brazil and Italy), with a better payload than ever (2,100kg) and even the option of air suspension.
Offering a range of diesel engines and with second-generation MultiJet technology, it sets the bar in terms of efficiency and low maintenance costs.
Other milestones reached over the years include the introduction of Steyr-Puch all-wheel drive in 1989, the all-electric Ducato Elettra launched in the early 1990s and winning International Van of the Year in 1994.
Its third-generation variant became a game changer when, for the first time in the sector, the gear lever was incorporated into the central console, facilitating access to the cab from both doors and from the cab to the loading compartment.
In the early 2000s it led the way for alternative fuels in Europe with its petrol/methane engine, while the fifth-generation Ducato, launched in 2006, was the first front-wheel-drive van to offer a volume of 17 cubic metres.
The popularity of the Ducato shows no sign of stopping with more than five million sales since its launch. Sold in more than 80 countries worldwide, including North America since 2013 by RAM under the name of PROMASTER, the Ducato is now produced in three countries (Mexico, Brazil and Italy) and is a truly global vehicle and a leader in the light commercial vehicles sector.
The Fiat Ducato starts at £21,445 (excluding VAT).
